European and Spanish Outlets

Without a special plugin adapter, your electronics will not work in ordinary European outlets. So, why does it matter? It may not, unless you have an iPod, electric shaver, or other electronic devices that will need to be charged.

The electrical current in Spain is usually 220 volts compared to the USA's 110 volts. All of the plugs that are used there are round-prongs. So, standard US electronics that need US outlets will not work at all in Spain.

Check to see if your electronic device can work with both 110 and 220 volt electicity. Many electronic shavers do, and iPods do also. So if they do, you will only need a plug adapter.

To find the correct plug adapter, go to Magellans' travel wizard to find the best one.

So what is needed: Plug Adapter, maybe a Transformer, and maybe a Converter

One option is to purchase Spanish outlets is to buy them online. Using Google, you can probably find many places to purchase them.

To get european outlets in Spain, you may be able to find them at department stores. A typical Spanish store that carries european outlets is "El Corte Inglés." Finding transformers may be more difficult though. So we recommend getting your necessary electronic devices before your trip online or at your local electronics store.
