   Salamanca, the "2002 European Capital of Culture" is one of the most popular educational destinations in Spain. The city is home to 180,000 residents and has a rich history.

   The city offers great educational oppurtunities. It's a favorite for language schools because of the pure "Castellano" spanish spoken in the city. The city is  also about 125 miles away from Madrid, so you can take a bus to spend free days in Madrid.
