Madrid, the capital and largest city of Spain, has 3 million residents. Madrid is a vital banking and industrial city of Spain.

Art and museums dominate sightseeing in Madrid. The city is homoe to countless pieces of work that was collected by Spain's 16th Century emperor, Carlos V. The big three museums are the Prado Museum, Palacio de Villahermosa, and the Reina Sofia Museum

Above is Retiro Park in Madrid. The park is situated behind the Prado Museum and use to be a retreat for royalty. Today it's a popular escape from the city because of its gardens and lake.

You can also explore the Royal Library and Royal Armory at the Palacio Real. The Palacio Real is the official palace for the Spanish Monarchy.

Madrid has a large shopping and tourist district also. In the area around the plaza, there are many tapas bars and nighlife oppurtunities.
